This web site is for individual readers as well as book groups. Many of the selections are book choices for my book group and some are favorites that I think other readers will find meaningful. I've also added links to some reviews, author interviews, etc. at the bottom of each web page. Enjoy reading and have great discussions.

  • ANIL'S GHOST by Michael Ondaatje - This is another truly gripping story from this author. This novel has a profound way of revealing the feelings of the participants in this
story about lives forever changed by political turmoil.
  • THE PIANO TUNER by Daniel Mason - This is the book to read if you like adventure and exotic places. If you're a Paul Scott fan, you'll love it. It takes place in Burma in 1886 and the author's spinning of the tale is wonderful. It seems like you can feel the moisture dripping from the jungle plants and you almost smell the aromas and hear the sounds.
  • THE ANTHOLOGY OF TURQUOISE by Ellen Meloy - This is a gem of a book and quite humorous. Ellen Meloy has written about the landscape - flora and fauna - and about the way she has always connected with her surroundings. It's a great book to read while you settle down after a long day - she eases the transition between the daily life and the inner workings of the creative mind.
